Program Overview

  • Nominations are open through December 2019.
  • Domestic and international nominations will be accepted. Self-nominations are permitted and encouraged.
  • The Giants of Dermatology Advisory Board will vet all nominations to determine finalists in each category.
  • A selection committee of dermatologists will vote to determine the 2020 inductees.
  • The 2020 Giants of Dermatology class will be celebrated in Denver in March 2020.

Help us identify physicians and researchers in the field of dermatology whose dedication to the field has resulted in successful innovations and has inspired, informed, or improved the treatment of patients with skin disorders. 

What constitutes an individual as GIANT?

Nominees for the Giants of Dermatology will have made significant contributions that have advanced the field of dermatology. Those contributions may fall into one, or several of the following categories:

Excellence in Education and Teaching 
Physicians, researchers and industry leaders who have made extraordinary and lasting contributions to the education and professional development of new dermatologists; have shown a proven and significant impact on achievement of residents; or their level of passion to teach, lecture and mentor has impacted and inspired dermatology providers around the globe.

Technology and Product Innovation
Physicians, researchers and industry leaders who have progressed the development of drugs, devices, products, or services advancing the care of dermatologic patients and the treatment of dermatologic diseases.

Research and Discovery
Physicians, researchers and industry leaders who have made discoveries in pathology, autoimmune understanding, or disease states leading to new understandings of skin conditions; or have developed a comprehensive body of scientific work that has advanced the understanding of disease states leading to shifts in dermatologic therapy positively impacting patient care.

Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology
Physicians, researchers and industry leaders who have made a significant impact in advancing knowledge and technique in dermatologic oncology, dermatologic surgery, Mohs Surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.

Humanitarian and Leadership
Physicians, researchers and industry leaders who have made extraordinary contributions to providing compassionate dermatologic care to the underserved, advancing the quality of life for dermatology patients around the world.
